जीक जयंती चारि अक्तूबर केर दरभंगा मे मनाएल जाएत. सुमन जी के मैथिली साहित्य केर भीष्म पितामह मानल जाइ छनि. सुमन जी दरभंगा सं हमर सांसद सेहो रहि चुकल छथिन्ह. सुमन जीक जन्म 1910 मे समस्तीपुर के बल्लीपुर मे भेल छलन्हि. हिनकर देहावसान 5 मार्च 2002 के भेल छलन्हि. साहित्यकार... उपन्यासकार... पत्रकार... कवि... अनुवादक... मूर्धन्य विद्वान सुमन जीक जयंती पर एकटा स्मारिका सेहो निकालल जाएत. ई विचार सेहो अछि जे आब हर साल हिनकर जयंती पर एकटा संस्कृत आओर एकता मैथिली केर साहित्यकार के सुमन साहित्य सम्मान सं सम्मानित कएल जाए. कार्यक्रम के लेल एकटा समिति बना तैयारी शुरू कs देल गेल अछि. स्मारिका मे सुमन जीक जीवन... व्यक्तित्व पर केंद्रित लेख प्रकाशित कएल जाएत. चारि अक्तूबर के होए वाला एहि कार्यक्रम के लेल हिन्दी... मैथिली आ संस्कृत के पैघ-पैघ साहित्यकार के बुलाबय के कोशिश कएल जा रहल अछि. स्मारिका के लोकार्पण बिहार विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व कुलपति डॉ एल के मिश्रा जी करथिन्ह.

Now people would start telling me Devil’s Advocate and a bodyline bowler if I swipe at the political parties for belittling the stature of Surendra Jha Suman, the doyen of Maithili literature.
The NDA government led by Vajpayee had announced to issue postal stamp in commemoration to Sumanji and the process was started. Kindly remember the statement of Sanjay Paswan Minister of State. Later on Congress led UPA government came to power and when Sakil Ahmed, Congress MP from Madhubani who held the charge of the department of telecommunication as the minister of state was contacted to know about the progress on the release of stamp, Sakil said that “Sumanji had no such national stature hence there was no need to issue any postal stamp in his memory.
Shame on minister and shame on his Maithi speaking voters and Congress too. Government can issue ticket on Poster Boys and insignificant personality but not upon Sumanji. Let them use the same version against any Telugu writer and poet, they will come to the result.
