Project Associate, Community Radio at OneWorld

OneWorld Foundation India with support from Ford Foundation is managing a Community Radio Facilitation Centre (CRFC) at the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) in New Delhi to enable aspiring Community Radio (CR) applicants to obtain licences.

The CRFC would be positioned as a ‘Single Window Agency’ for CR applicants/stations, offering them guidance on applying for CR licences, promoting revised CR policy, supporting the MIB’s CR Cell to fast track licensing, facilitating inter-ministerial coordination to
expedite related clearances.

OneWorld is currently looking for highly motivated candidates to coordinate and support the activities of the CRFC. The candidate should be able to liaise with various government departments; facilitate aspiring applicants to apply for CR licences;coordinate with stakeholders to organise workshops, consultations on Community Radio.

Location:The position will be based in New Delhi.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Minimum eligibility criterion
1.Bachelor’s Degree in Media or Communications or related disciplines from a reputed College/ University.

2.Excellent understanding of Indian Community Radio domain

3.Good written and verbal skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional Indian language is desirable.

Required skills
Interested candidates must possess the following skills:
1.Effective liaising and coordinating skills

2.Able to work in multi-discipline environment and government departments

3.In-depthunderstanding of development issues.

4.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members under tight deadlines.

5.Willingness to travel.

6.Excellent writing skills in English and Hindi or any regional language is preferred.

The key job responsibilities include:

1.Coordinate and organise stakeholder workshops involving selected partners mainly Community Radio stations and community-based organisations.

2.Writing reports, manuals, maintain database of potential CR partners, prepare presentations and documentation of workshops/ consultations.

3.Liaise with ministries, departments and NGOs.

4.Undertake and coordinate research and evaluation activities.

5.Coordinate production of radio and video programmes.

6.Assists in all aspects of programme management.

7.On deputation, should be able to work in Government departments.
